The West Buganda Muslim Region has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Manager of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), in recognition of her outstanding efforts and contributions to the initiatives of the Muslim Women’s Council.
The certificate was presented to Hajjat Namyalo by Hon. Mbekeka Sofia, Chairperson of the West Buganda Muslim Women’s Council and representative to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) General Assembly, on Wednesday, March 5, at the ONC offices in Kyambogo, a suburb of Kampala.
Hon. Mbekeka commended Hajjat Namyalo’s instrumental role in last year’s National Muslim Women’s Council gathering at Old Kampala, particularly her lobbying efforts that helped secure UGX 2 billion from President Yoweri Museveni to support the council’s activities.
“We deeply appreciate Hajjat Namyalo’s support, especially in facilitating our engagement with the President. She truly deserves recognition from us and the entire Muslim community,” remarked Hon. Mbekeka.
In her acceptance speech, Hajjat Namyalo, popularly known as Chief Muzzukulu, expressed her gratitude to the Muslim Women’s Council and reaffirmed ONC’s commitment to inclusive outreach.
“It’s not just about Muslim women; as the Office of the National Chairman, we are determined to reach everyone. With the necessary support, we will come to you,” she stated.
This recognition from the Muslim Women’s Council adds to the growing list of accolades for Hajjat Namyalo, acknowledging her relentless dedication to empowering the Bazzukulu at the grassroots level.
In November 2024, she was named among Uganda’s top 75 Development Champions for her exceptional contributions toward achieving Uganda Vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Her leadership at the ONC has been marked by initiatives aimed at uplifting marginalized communities, aligning with the broader goals of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) to foster unity and development across Uganda.
