Tehran, Iran – His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has arrived safely in Tehran, Iran, to participate in a prestigious international conference focused on the Holy Qur’an and International Diplomacy. The highly anticipated event, which began on March 4th, 2025, has brought together scholars, religious leaders, and diplomats from across the globe.
The conference, hosted in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has attracted representatives from over 30 countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Malaysia, Algeria, Tunisia, Bosnia, and several others. The presence of such a diverse group of participants underscores the growing role of religious diplomacy in fostering global peace, cooperation, and intercultural dialogue.
Mufti Mubaje’s Role in the Conference
As a leading Islamic scholar from Africa, Mufti Mubaje has been invited as a key facilitator, contributing his insights on how Qur’anic teachings can help shape international diplomacy in the modern world. His participation highlights Uganda’s active engagement in interfaith dialogue and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among nations.
Accompanying the Mufti at the conference is Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration. His presence reflects Uganda’s commitment to strengthening ties with other Islamic nations and fostering unity among Muslim communities worldwide.
A Platform for Global Religious Engagement
The Holy Qur’an & International Diplomacy Conference serves as an important platform for discussing the role of Islam in global affairs, conflict resolution, and interfaith harmony.
