At least 90 Pakistani Army personnel have been killed after a bus full of army officers collided with a car near the National Highway 40, Pakistan on Sunday, 16 March 2025. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to local media reports, a roadside bomb exploded near a bus carrying security forces in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province on Sunday, killing at least five Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and injuring 12 others, The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming that over 90 personnel were killed.

The bomb exploded in the Noshki area of Balochistan, which has been witnessing a wave of attacks by insurgents. Initial investigations suggest the incident was a suicide attack while evidence from the site indicates that a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the FC convoy, says a report in Dawn.

On Saturday, March 15, BLA carried out a major attack as they bombed a convoy of the Pakistani army, according to Balochistan Post. According to reports, around 9 AM on Saturday, 15 March 2025, a bomb exploded on a vehicle that was part of a Pakistani army convoy on the C Peak Road near De Baloch in Turbat.

According to information, soldiers of the Pakistani army were casualties in this explosion, although officials have not yet provided any details regarding this.

Just a day earlier, on Friday, March 14, the Pakistani army’s bomb disposal squad foot soldiers were targeted while they were busy cleaning the railway track in Harnai.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, a major attack by the Baloch Liberation Army resulted in the hijacking of the Jaffar Express in Bolan, where several Pakistani soldiers and hostages were killed. The Baloch Liberation Army has set the release of personnel as a condition for the exchange of prisoners.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least populated province, has long been plagued by separatist insurgency.
