Pastor Wilson Bugembe has finally spoken out regarding widespread speculation about his relationship with Dr. Jan Nakitende Mukiibi, a UK-based Ugandan doctor.
The rumors gained traction after photos emerged of the two sitting together during a service at Worship House Church in Nansana. The images sparked excitement among social media users, many of whom suggested that the 39-year-old pastor should consider the stunning doctor as a potential partner.
The discussion escalated into a viral campaign, with notable Ugandan celebrities such as Bebe Cool and Bad Black publicly endorsing the idea of the two becoming a couple.
Bugembe Sets The Record Straight
However, on Wednesday, Pastor Bugembe addressed the speculation, clarifying that his relationship with Dr. Jan is purely platonic and deeply rooted in family ties.
“She is family; I grew up in her parents’ home. I watched her and her siblings grow up,” Bugembe explained, dismissing any romantic links.
He described their connection as one of long-standing friendship, referring to Dr. Jan as a “sister from another mother.”
Bugembe also revealed that during his visits to London, Dr. Jan’s family treats him like a son, reinforcing the familial nature of their bond.
“To those who wished for us to be together, I appreciate the love because she is a decent and respectable woman. But I am more of a brother to her,” he added.
The Playful Exchange That Fueled The Speculation
The pastor also addressed a lighthearted moment during the church service that added fuel to the speculation.
While addressing Dr. Jan, Bugembe jokingly asked if she was married. When she responded that she wasn’t, he humorously replied, “Me too.”
He emphasized that this was merely a playful exchange, not an indication of any romantic intent.
Who Is Dr. Jan Nakitende Mukiibi?
Beyond the rumors, Dr. Jan Nakitende Mukiibi is an accomplished professional with a growing influence in both the UK and Uganda.
At just 19 years old, she was crowned Miss Uganda UK (2017–2018), earning recognition within the Ugandan diaspora community.
Despite being raised in the UK, she speaks fluent Luganda, attributing her strong cultural connection to a strict upbringing—where speaking English at home came with a fine.
Dr. Jan is currently working as an NHS Global Health Fellow in Uganda, focusing on improving mental health care in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
Beyond her medical career, she has carved out a niche as a content creator and fashion influencer, balancing her demanding job with a strong social media presence.
