Local residents discovered Pastor Nakibuuka Esther’s body on Bana oil road at Watuba village. The 39-year-old World of Life Church leader lay motionless after her routine prayer walk at 2:00 a.m.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman Patrick Onyango, the pastor had completed an overnight prayer session with church members. “She did not return to the church, and her body was later found by a passerby,” Onyango said.
The police discovered deep knife wounds on the left side of her neck. Blood covered the ground where her body rested near Watubba ward.
Police teams documented clear signs of struggle at the murder scene. The evidence showed marks three meters from where they found the pastor’s body.
The deadly attack happened within Nangabo division boundaries of Wakiso District. Medical examinations ruled out any signs of sexual assault on the victim.
The pastor walked with her prayer team from church to the main road before separating. Each member took different routes toward their homes after the night prayers.
Matugga Police secured the crime scene immediately after receiving alerts. Officers collected witness statements while examining the surrounding areas.
The murder weapon appeared to be a knife based on wound patterns. Detectives found evidence of severe bleeding from the neck injury.
Fellow church members described their final moments with Pastor Nakibuuka that night. The group had completed their usual prayer walk before splitting up.
Police launched a search for the unknown attackers responsible for the pastor’s death. Detectives continue gathering evidence to track down the perpetrators.
Authorities urged people with information about the incident to step forward. The investigation team promised to follow every available lead to solve the case.
