Uganda’s State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Hon. Evelyn Anite, has once again captured public attention with her heartfelt social media tributes to her husband, Allan Kajik. In a recent post, she expressed profound gratitude, stating:
“My darling husband, the only man in the world who has the courage to give up his dream to support a girlfriend-turned-wife. My captain, I promise to always give you all my natural resources & even the $ because you gave up your dream of becoming youth MP for me.”
This declaration is part of a series of public affirmations Anite has made about her husband. In December 2022, she shared a photo kneeling before him with a birthday cake, captioned:
“Happy Birthday my Darling, May God give you a long life to love me more & me. All I can tell you on this day is Yoona Yoona Yawe!”
In April 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Anite emphasized the importance of love over material wealth, tweeting:
“I am enjoying my husband in this lockdown, not money.”
Her openness about their relationship has occasionally sparked public debate. In July 2023, Anite faced criticism after posting photos of herself and Kajik kissing, to which she responded by highlighting the sanctity of their marriage, stating it was “blessed by God, in the presence of the public and the head of state.”
Beyond expressions of affection, Anite has also celebrated her husband’s academic achievements. In 2024, she proudly announced Kajik’s graduation from Kyambogo University with a Master’s in Organisation and Public Sector Management, coinciding with her own academic pursuits at Tufts and Harvard Universities.
Anite’s candidness about her marriage continues to elicit diverse reactions from the public. While some commend her for celebrating her partner, others question the appropriateness of such displays from a public official. Nonetheless, Anite remains steadfast in sharing her personal life, offering a glimpse into the balance between her public duties and private joys.
