State Minister for Investment and Privatization, Hon. Evelyn Anite, is once again stirring social media with her trademark blend of boldness, humor, and political messaging—this time celebrating what she calls “steady progress” in both her marriage and body goals.
In a tweet that has set Ugandan Twitter ablaze, the outspoken former Koboko legislator shared a cheeky update, writing:
“With God, all things are possible… now my Nyash is growing! Some of you have been saying I am nyashless. Watch God doing miracles for me & my darling Captain. We are on steady progress ooo!!”
The post, which included a lighthearted reference to her husband—affectionately called “Captain”—and a shout-out to divine intervention, has drawn both applause and amusement from netizens. Photos accompanying the post appeared to show the Minister confidently showcasing her curves, prompting fans to coin phrases like “2kg Nyash” in admiration.
But as usual with Anite, the flair didn’t end with fashion or fitness.
Amid the viral attention, the Minister also used her platform to deliver a serious policy message to Ugandan entrepreneurs. In a follow-up tweet, she clarified key details of the proposed income tax incentives aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the upcoming financial year.
“Just for clarity fellow citizens who are in business—this proposed income tax incentive for SMEs shall apply to businesses with investment capital of UGX 500M and below. It shall be effective 1st July 2025. Make sure you file your returns with @URAuganda,” she tweeted.
Anite further explained that any Ugandan investing UGX 300 million or less would be exempted from income tax for a period of 10 years, as part of government efforts to encourage local investment.
“Fellow citizens, I’ve heard your calls for more support to be given to local investors,” she assured. “I promise that whatever support you need—be it tax or non-tax incentives—shall be given to you, as long as you are in the sectors of Manufacturing, Agriculture, ICT, and Services.”
While many praised the tax incentives, some netizens couldn’t help but focus on the blend of personal and public messaging, with one user commenting, “Only Hon. Anite can announce tax policy and body goals in the same thread!”
Whether she’s speaking as a wife, a minister, or a woman on a fitness journey, Evelyn Anite continues to prove that in Uganda’s political and digital landscape, she’s one voice you simply can’t ignore.
