Just In: Body Of Cedric Babu Arrives At Entebbe Airport, Full Burial Program Out

The body of Cedric Babu Ndilima, the renowned Ugandan media personality and sports administrator, arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a solemn farewell week. Babu, who passed away on May 31st at the age of 49 due to heart complications, was the son of former Kampala Central MP Francis Babu.

Upon arrival, the casket was received by close family members, friends, and funeral service officials. From Entebbe, the body was transported to Uganda Funeral Services in Bukoto, where it will lie in preparation for a series of events leading to his final rest.

Burial Program

A detailed week-long burial schedule has been released, giving family, friends, fans, and the public an opportunity to pay their last respects to a man whose life left a mark across media and sports in Uganda.

  • Tuesday & Wednesday, June 3–4: Private tributes will be held at Cedric Babu’s home in Kololo, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor his life.
  • Thursday, June 5: A public tribute will take place at Lugogo Indoor Stadium, where members of the sports community and the general public will have a chance to celebrate his legacy. A main vigil and mass will also be held later at his Kololo home.
  • Friday, June 6: A holy mass in his memory will be conducted at Rubaga Cathedral. After the mass, the body will be transported to Kamengo, where a vigil will be held overnight.
  • Saturday, June 7: Final burial will take place in Kamengo, bringing to a close the final journey of a man remembered for his passion, leadership, and contribution to Uganda’s media and sports sectors.

Cedric Babu’s passing has stirred a wave of national grief, with tributes continuing to flow from public figures, colleagues, and fans. The burial program reflects the widespread respect he commanded, and the country is set to give him a dignified and heartfelt sendoff.
