In a heartfelt gesture ahead of the sacred Eid Al-Adha celebrations, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, has launched the distribution of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s special food and livestock packages to Muslim communities within the Kampala Metropolitan area.
The initiative, rolled out today, reflects the deep-rooted values of Eid Al-Adha — a significant Islamic holiday marked by sacrifice, charity, and devotion to Allah, commemorating the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim.
Acting on behalf of the President, Hajjat Namyalo began the campaign at Kawempe Mbogo Mosque, where she delivered a cow and a range of essential food items to the congregants. She later visited several mosques, including Masjid Katangawuzi in Nansana, Masjid Umea in Kikajo, Masjid Lubowa in Namamusba, and wrapped up the day at Masjid Taqwa in Kisenyi, Kampala Central.
“His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni, our Jajja, extends his warm Eid greetings to the Muslim community,” Hajjat Namyalo said while addressing worshippers. “These gifts are a symbol of love, solidarity, and commitment to ensuring no Ugandan is left behind during such meaningful times.”
The ongoing campaign will see more distributions over the coming days, reaching numerous other mosques and communities in the greater Kampala area. According to Hajjat Namyalo, the initiative is part of a broader mission to promote unity, uplift communities, and advance the President’s vision for economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
She reiterated the President’s message on wealth creation, urging communities to embrace national development programs and work collectively to build a self-sustaining economy. “Like Prophet Ibrahim’s example of obedience and sacrifice, we too must commit to a shared national vision,” she noted.
This annual distribution has become a signature activity of the ONC’s community outreach, serving not only to support Eid festivities but also to affirm the government’s dedication to inclusive development and religious harmony.
As Muslims across Uganda prepare to celebrate Eid Al-Adha, the timely intervention led by Hajjat Namyalo ensures that the essence of the holiday — compassion, sacrifice, and community — is tangibly felt by thousands, especially the most vulnerable..
