Holy Drama: Man Storms Pastor’s Office With Police To Demand His UGX4M Tithe, Pastor Tells Him; ‘Go To Court-This Is A Spiritual Matter’

By Our Reporter

In a scene that has since gone viral across social media platforms, a dramatic confrontation unfolded between a Nigerian man and a local pastor after a startling financial mishap — the man accidentally transferred ₦1 million (approximately UGX 4.6 million) to the church’s account instead of the intended ₦100,000 (about UGX 460,000).

The incident, which was captured on video and shared on social platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @chukwe, has stirred widespread outrage and debate online.

According to reports, the man had meant to support the church with a donation of ₦100,000. However, a costly error saw him transfer ten times that amount. When he reached out to the pastor to explain and request a refund, he was met with resistance and a mystifying response.

The pastor, reportedly unmoved, told the man: “Go to court and collect it. This is a spiritual matter.”

Unwilling to let the issue slide, the man arrived at the pastor’s office accompanied by police officers, prompting a tense standoff that was recorded and widely circulated. In the footage, the man can be seen trying to reason with the pastor while law enforcement looks on.

Social Media Reacts

The video sparked a flood of reactions, with many questioning the ethics of the clergyman and criticizing the misuse of spiritual authority.

  • @MAKA_1NE said: “This just has to be content, because why has this so-called pastor not collected a slap yet?”
  • @Dapsijaiye remarked: “Where is that brain-resetting backhand?”
  • @Tofunmi9Samuel wrote: “The guy no suppose carry police come. Just run like 5 men from street — pastor body go calm.”
  • @Ace_Oparah quipped: “Who else heard when the guy said ‘but pastor, can I explain myself?’ Baba dey call police man ‘pastor’.”
  • @SylverNwarisi added: “People don’t know how to win battles. Simply send the man his money. Simple.”

While the debate over spirituality versus legality continues online, legal experts have weighed in to note that such matters, regardless of religious context, fall under consumer protection and civil law.

As the video continues to make rounds, one thing is clear: this is one transaction that has tested not just faith, but also accountability.
