Buyela Christopher has officially returned his nomination forms to contest for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, marking a defining moment in the ongoing party electoral process. He was escorted by a strong and diverse delegation of NRM supporters and delegates from all regions of the country — a reflection of his broad national appeal and inclusive leadership style.
While addressing the media shortly after submitting his forms at the NRM Secretariat, Buyela made a bold declaration: “Eastern Uganda is not a dumping ground for faded politicians. This is not a tribal position — it is a leadership role meant to serve a region rich in potential, history, and strength. The people of Eastern Uganda deserve effective representation and equal opportunity.”
Buyela emphasized that his candidacy represents a new dawn for the region, one anchored on equity, youth empowerment, and regional development. “We are not here to recycle politics; we are here to reclaim the dignity of Eastern Uganda within the NRM and the broader national agenda. The youth are the majority, and it is time they take center stage in shaping the future of our party and country.”
The return of his forms signals the beginning of an intense nationwide campaign trail. Buyela affirmed that he is embarking on a journey across the country to engage delegates, mobilize support, and share his vision for a more inclusive and responsive NRM leadership.
“This is a campaign of purpose,” he said. “We are building a movement that prioritizes equity, fairness, and grassroots empowerment. Eastern Uganda has waited long enough — now is the time for vibrant, visionary, and committed leadership.”
As he officially enters the race, Buyela Christopher remains confident that the wind of change is blowing through the NRM. His message is clear: Eastern Uganda will no longer be left behind, and the youth will no longer be sidelined.
