Kampala – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League has received a strong call to action from its newly elected National Chairperson, Kiconco Brenda, who has urged young people to rise to the occasion as the country gears up for the 2026 general elections.

In her inaugural message to the NRM youth fraternity, Kiconco emphasized the central role of young people in driving the vision of the party and securing victory for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“The time has come for us, the youth – the engine of our great Movement – to rise to the occasion once again,” Brenda said. “As we prepare for serious presidential mobilization, our energy, unity, and strategic action will be critical in securing a resounding victory for Jajja Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as our presidential candidate and the continued progress of our country.”

She highlighted the importance of grassroots engagement, urging youth to mobilize in every village, town, and district. According to her, speaking boldly about the achievements of the NRM and its future vision is key to maintaining the party’s influence and legacy.

“Each of us has a role to play – no effort is too small when the mission is great,” she added, stressing discipline, passion, and purpose as guiding principles for the youth movement.

Brenda’s leadership comes at a crucial time when the NRM seeks to consolidate its youth base ahead of the next elections. With her term running from 2025 to 2030, she has pledged to spearhead youth-driven mobilization, echoing the theme of her campaign: “Youth Voice.”

Her message underscores a broader effort within the NRM to ensure that the youth, who form the majority of Uganda’s population, remain a vibrant force in shaping the country’s political future.
