Jubilant supporters, religious leaders, and local dignitaries on Saturday thronged Kyanamukaka Sub-county to celebrate the meteoric rise of Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, who was recently elected NRM National Vice Chairperson for Buganda Region on the party’s influential Central Executive Committee (CEC).

The thanksgiving event turned Kyanamukaka into a sea of yellow, with music, cultural dances, and thunderous cheers punctuating speeches from an array of leaders. Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) from across Greater Masaka, NRM flag bearers, and clergy from various denominations joined the festivities, underscoring Kasolo’s deep political and social roots in the area.

Kasolo—who also serves as State Minister for Microfinance—hailed the victory as a shared triumph, attributing it to the unity and steadfast support of Buganda delegates and his home constituency.

“This result belongs to you,” Kasolo declared to the crowd. “What we are celebrating here today is our unity and our collective hard work.”

Local party leaders lauded him as a bridge between national leadership and grassroots structures, praising his tireless mobilisation efforts and consistent presence in community affairs.
“This CEC win is a clear sign of his hard work,” one NRM flag bearer said. “He has never forgotten us, and today we celebrate one of our own.”

Looking ahead to the 2026 general elections, Kasolo pledged to strengthen NRM structures across Buganda, rally support for party candidates, and ensure the ruling party remains responsive to local needs.

The overwhelming turnout and electrifying atmosphere further cemented Kasolo’s status as a key power broker for the NRM in Buganda, a region viewed as strategically critical for the party’s future political dominance.
