The National Resistance Movement (NRM) leadership in Luwero has sent a powerful message of unity, mobilization, and loyalty to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the party gears up for the official launch of the 2026 campaigns at Bukalasa tomorrow.

In a charged gathering at Wobulenzi Town Council, leaders across the district praised Hon. Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune, NRM Vice Chairperson for the Central Region, for his role in rejuvenating the party grassroots, empowering youth leaders, and steering Luwero back on the NRM track ahead of 2026.

Yasin Segawa: “Kasolo Is Our CEC Voice”

Wobulenzi Town Council NRM Chairman Yasin Segawa, popularly dubbed the Mayor of Wobulenzi, revealed that he fought “tooth and nail” to ensure that Kasolo secures a seat on the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

“We believe Hon. Kasolo is the right leader to remind Museveni of the Museveni we know—the people’s president. With him in CEC, our concerns will be heard,” Segawa said.

Segawa requested Kasolo to lobby for support towards building a storey block at Wobulenzi Public School and assured him that the town and district leaders have massively mobilized for tomorrow’s grand event at Bukalasa where Museveni will officially launch his campaign.

Youth Leaders Praise Kasolo, Pledge Loyalty To Museveni

Luwero youth leaders commended Kasolo for fulfilling his promise of delivering motorcycles to empower youth mobilizers.

They pledged to work tirelessly to ensure Museveni secures victory in 2026, while also requesting a follow-up meeting with Kasolo to present the pressing issues affecting young people in the district.

NRM flag bearer for Luwero District Woman MP, Agnes Kirabo Nantongo, applauded Kasolo for empowering Bazzukulu with motorcycles and urged the youth to remain firm in NRM.

“This is just the beginning. More opportunities are coming for the youth and the people of Luwero under NRM,” Kirabo assured.

Minister Kaboyo: Veterans and Bazzukulu Must Back Museveni’s Candidature

Hon. Alice Kaboyo, Minister of Luwero Triangle and Veteran Affairs, commended the youth for their consistent participation in NRM activities and rallied both veterans and the public to turn up in big numbers tomorrow.

“The people of Luwero must come out and listen to Museveni’s message. This is our president, and this is our movement,” she declared.

Namayanja Hails NRM’s Transformative Leadership

NRM Deputy Secretary General Hon. Rose Namayanja Nsereko inspired the crowd with her own story, recalling how she used to sell yellow bananas on the streets of Wobulenzi.

“Today those streets are shining because of NRM’s leadership. Luwero has over 200 schools, modern hospitals, and improved roads like Luwero–Kiwoko–Butalangu—all fruits of Museveni’s leadership,” Namayanja emphasized.

She called on youth and Bazzukulu to remain united behind NRM candidates, warning that voting for independents only causes divisionism.

Kasolo: “Youth Are Backbone of Museveni’s 2026 Victory”

In his keynote remarks, Hon. Haruna Kasolo expressed joy at opening the new NRM office in Wobulenzi and meeting with the youth, whom he described as the backbone of Museveni’s 2026 campaign.

He admitted that Luwero had lagged behind in development due to voting for the opposition, urging voters to correct that mistake in 2026 by electing NRM flag bearers at all levels, including Woman MP Agnes Kirabo and Abubaker Kalume.

“If Museveni is given a solid NRM team in Parliament, your issues will be addressed faster. Luwero must not lag behind. The president is determined to deliver more in the next five years,” Kasolo assured.

Kasolo handed over six motorcycles to youth leaders from Luwero, Nakaseke, and Nakasongola, promising that more would be delivered soon.

PLU Leaders Rally Bazzukulu

In the same gathering, Michael Nuwagira (Toyota), Vice Chairman of PLU, and Michael Mawanda, Head of Mobilization, urged the Bazzukulu to flood Bukalasa playground tomorrow to welcome President Museveni as he officially kicks off his 2026 presidential bid.
