The Senior Presidential Advisor and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, on Saturday graced the colorful Kukyala and Nika ceremony of Mrs. Rehema Nakimbugwe and her groom, Mr. Shafiq Mukasa, in Bwebajja, Entebbe.

The joyful occasion was hosted at the family home of the bride’s father, prominent businessman Hajji Umar Kasana , and attended by family members, friends, religious leaders, and dignitaries from Kampala and beyond.

In her address, Hajjat Namyalo congratulated the couple upon this new milestone and urged them to make Allah the cornerstone of their marriage.

“Let Allah be the foundation of your marriage,” she advised. “Pray together, grow together, and let His guidance lead you through every season.”

She encouraged the newlyweds to cultivate patience, mutual respect, and a spirit of understanding, saying these virtues are essential for sustaining a lasting union.

“You will face challenges as every couple does, but remember that these trials are part of Allah’s plan to strengthen your bond. Always return to the Qur’an and Hadith for guidance,” Hajjat Namyalo said.

She further appealed to the guests particularly the youth to uphold Islamic values and moral discipline in their everyday lives.

“As we celebrate love and unity with this lovely couple today, let us also reflect on our own journeys. Islamic discipline is not only for special occasions but a daily guide for how we treat one another, build families, and serve our communities,” she added.

The event was also attended by Hajjat Fatuma Katongole, the Assistant Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Kampala, who congratulated the couple and spoke passionately about the importance of building family units anchored in faith and mutual respect.

“A marriage rooted in Islamic principles lays the foundation for a peaceful and progressive community. I encourage you to live by example and inspire other young couples to value love, responsibility, and spiritual growth,” Hajjat Fatuma said.

She went on to advise the bride to be patient, a good listener, and a source of peace in her home, reminding her that trust is the pillar of every successful marriage.

“My daughter, learn to trust your husband and make him your best friend. Trust does not come overnight—it grows through honesty, communication, and shared prayer. Stand by him, support him in difficult times, and build your marriage on openness and respect,” she counseled.

The event was marked by joyful ululations, vibrant traditional performances, and heartfelt blessings from family elders and religious leaders who commended the couple for formalizing their union in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Hajjat Namyalo’s attendance added a distinguished touch to the ceremony, reflecting her continued commitment to promoting faith, family values, and moral integrity among the Muslim community.
