The Ruparelia Foundation has begun its annual Christmas charity season, kicking off the first outreach yesterday at the Ghetto Research Lab in Mulago–Kamwokya. The team led by Sudhir Ruparelia’s daughter Sheena Ruparelia and her husband Jay Sakaria, arrived with gift hampers, shared uplifting messages, cut cake with residents, interacted with families, and spent time with children in the community. The day was filled with connection, hope, and generosity.
Hampers seen by this reporter were branded with photos of the late Rajiv Ruparelia, the Ruparelia family’s son who is fondly remembered by many Ugandans for his compassion. Known as a father figure to countless underprivileged children, Rajiv offered scholarships, led charity drives, and extended support even during motor rally events where he actively participated.
The Foundation has made this outreach an annual Christmas tradition, and thousands of families continue to benefit from the initiative each year.
Here is a glimpse of the day’s activities.
