You Lived A Life Of Grace, Faith & Devotion To Family: Victoria University Pays Tribute To VC Muganga’s Mother, Burial Program Out!

The Victoria University community has joined Prof. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor, and his family in mourning the passing of his beloved mother, Mama Immaculate Kayonga, who passed away on Sunday, December 21st, 2025.
In a heartfelt condolence message, the University expressed its deepest sympathy to Prof. Muganga and his family, describing the loss as profound and deeply felt across the entire institution. The University community noted that Mama Immaculate lived a life defined by grace, faith, and devotion to family, leaving behind a legacy of love, strong values, and inspiration that will continue to resonate for generations.
Victoria University assured the Vice Chancellor of its solidarity during this time of grief, standing with him in prayer and support. Citing Philippians 4:7, the University prayed that “the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds,” and encouraged the family to draw strength from cherished memories and the comfort of a life well lived.
Burial & Funeral Programme
The University has further communicated the official burial arrangements as announced by A-Plus funeral services on behalf of the family:
- Vigil:
A vigil will be held at the family home in Gwafu, Seeta – Mukono District, on Monday, 22nd December 2025, starting with a service at 5:00pm. - Funeral Service:
The funeral service will take place at St. James Church of Uganda, Gwafu, Seeta – Mukono, on Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, beginning at 11:00am. - Burial:
Burial will follow at 2:00pm on the same day.
Victoria University says continues to extend its prayers and support to Prof. Lawrence Muganga, his family, and all those affected by this loss, and encourages the University community and the public to stand with the family during this difficult time.
