Doors Opened! Victoria University Launches Free Artificial Intelligence Lectures To Empower Uganda’s Next Generation

Victoria University has announced a major step in expanding access to future-ready education with the launch of free Artificial Intelligence (AI) lectures, open to Senior Four leavers, Senior Six leavers, and degree holders from all disciplines.

The initiative, which will be conducted both online and physically at Victoria University, is part of the institution’s broader mission to prepare learners not just for graduation, but for life in an increasingly digital and technology-driven world.

According to the university, the free AI lectures are designed to demystify Artificial Intelligence and equip participants with practical knowledge that can be applied across a wide range of fields, including business, education, health, engineering, media, and public service.

“Education must prepare learners for life, not just graduation,” the university emphasized, noting that the programme reflects its commitment to thinking forward, leading change, and uplifting society.

Participants will gain:

• A clear and practical understanding of Artificial Intelligence
• Insights into real-world applications of AI across different sectors
• Guidance on career and study pathways in the AI era
• Essential skills to remain relevant and competitive in a rapidly changing job market

The programme targets Senior Four and Senior Six school leavers, as well as degree holders from all disciplines, recognizing that AI literacy is no longer reserved for technology specialists alone.

With limited slots available, Victoria University has encouraged early registration, stressing that the programme is entirely free of charge and accessible to learners from diverse backgrounds.

The physical sessions will be hosted at Victoria University, Victoria Tower, Plot No. 1–13 Jinja Road, Kampala, while online options ensure nationwide and global participation.

This latest initiative further positions Victoria University as a leader in innovative education in Uganda, reinforcing its slogan: “We Think Forward. We Lead Change.”
