Finally: Police Breaks Silence On Global Bus Accident, Victims Named!

Rubirizi District Police are investigating a serious single-vehicle accident involving a Global Bus Company vehicle that left four female passengers injured on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 6:10 a.m. on February 11, 2026, at Nyakashaaru along the Ishaka–Kasese Road. The bus, registration number UBH 881B, an Isuzu model belonging to Global Bus Company, was reportedly involved in the crash while en route to its destination.
According to the Greater Bushenyi Regional Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tayebwa Apollo, four female passengers sustained injuries in the incident. They have been identified as Twinomugisha Anner, 28; Nalubega Shadita, 21; Nakilarila Harriet; and Rahim, a juvenile.
Police traffic officers promptly visited and managed the scene in accordance with standard procedures. The injured passengers were rushed to Rugazi Health Centre IV in Rubirizi District, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Preliminary findings indicate that the accident occurred when the driver attempted to dodge a pedestrian, leading to the loss of control of the vehicle. The bus has since been impounded for inspection, while the driver was released on police bond as investigations continue.
Police have urged all road users to strictly observe traffic regulations and adhere to road safety precautions to prevent similar incidents.
SP Tayebwa conveyed wishes for a quick recovery to the injured passengers as inquiries into the exact cause of the crash continue.
