Singer, songwriter and vocalist Geosteady, real name Hassan Kigozi, has Thursday met the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, as preparations intensify for his forthcoming Valentine’s Day concert.

The meeting, held at the ONC offices, was followed by a joint press briefing at which the artiste and Hajjat Namyalo rallied Ugandans to attend what will be Geosteady’s first major concert since completing rehabilitation for drug-related struggles.

Addressing the media, Geosteady described the upcoming performance as a moment of renewal.

“I am grateful for a second chance. This concert means everything to me. I promise my fans a stellar performance. I will sing all my songs, and it will be one of the greatest performances of my life,” he said.

He added that he is now “refreshed, recharged and ready” to reclaim his place in the industry.

The Owooma hitmaker also applauded the Office of the National Chairman, specifically Hajjat Namyalo, for what he described as consistent support toward President Museveni’s Bazzukulu (grandchildren), including sponsoring youth-focused initiatives and concerts.

“I want to thank the Office of the National Chairman, and in a special way Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, for supporting the Bazzukulu and even sponsoring their concerts. She has also supported my concert by purchasing a couple of tables, and that encouragement means a lot to me,” Geosteady said.

He added: “President Museveni could not have found a better person to occupy this office other than Hajjat Namyalo because she brings the Bazzukulu closer to Jajja. She understands the youth and connects them to leadership.”

SPA Namyalo, popularly known as Chief Muzzukulu, said the music industry plays a critical role in job creation and national unity.

“Through music, many young people earn a living. It is not just entertainment; it is a source of employment and hope,” she said. “After the elections, Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, need moments that bring them together and help them relieve stress. This concert is one such opportunity.”

She joined the artiste in inviting the Bazzukulu and all Ugandans to turn up in large numbers to support local talent.

Geosteady’s former wife, businesswoman Prima Kardashi, also voiced her support, rallying city businesswomen and single mothers to attend the show.

“Let us come out in big numbers and support him,” she said. “I call upon businesswomen, single mothers, and everyone who believes in growth and second chances to show up for this concert.”

Known for hits such as Owooma, Viola (Remake), Tokendeeza, Sembera, Ndiwamululu and Sorayah, Geosteady had taken a step back from the music scene before news of his rehabilitation journey became public.

The show, organised by Abtex Promotions, marks a significant chapter in the singer’s career. His last concert, held in 2023 at Hotel Africana, sold out and earned praise for its production, while his debut concert was staged in 2017 at Imperial Royale Hotel.
