The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has continued the ONC Ramadan food distribution drive in Wakiso District, delivering relief items to Muslim families at Masjid Saeed Al Majdour in Kasangati Town Council. The outreach is part of a district-wide initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable households during the holy month of Ramadan.

The engagement marked the second day of activities in the area, with essential food supplies distributed to fasting families to ease the burden of preparing iftar meals.

At Masjid Saeed Al Majdour, Hajjat Namyalo was received by ONC Wakiso Coordinator Henry Luzinda, NRM District Chairperson Mayanja Laurence, Women’s League Chairperson Hannifa Nsubuga, Sheikh Erias Kigozi, Sheikh Katongole Abdullatif, and Imam Badru Byamugisha, alongside other local leaders and members of the Muslim community.

Community leaders described the intervention as timely, noting that many households experience financial strain during Ramadan due to increased domestic demands.

Addressing congregants inside the mosque, Hajjat Namyalo urged Muslims to use the sacred month as a period of sincere repentance, reflection, and spiritual renewal. She emphasized the importance of discipline, transparency, and living out the values of faith in everyday life.

“This is the month to return to Allah and correct what is wrong in our hearts,” she said, encouraging believers to dedicate time to night prayers and to nurture peace within their families and communities.

Sheikh Erias Kigozi commended her for what he described as consistent engagement with the Muslim community in Wakiso, observing that the district hosts hundreds of mosques and a steadily growing population of faithful. Imam Badru Byamugisha also expressed appreciation, noting that the gesture demonstrated solidarity and genuine concern for ordinary believers.

The outreach later extended to Masjid Jamia Katangawuzi in Nansana and Masjid Noor in Wakiso Town, where similar distributions were conducted. At each location, packages containing posho, rice, beans, and milk were handed over to selected beneficiaries, including elderly residents and low-income families.

Beyond the relief effort, Hajjat Namyalo encouraged the Muslim community to embrace economic empowerment initiatives, including participation in the upcoming launch of Islamic insurance scheduled for March 10th at City Square in Kampala. The event is expected to be officiated by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

She emphasized that safeguarding property through lawful and structured financial mechanisms aligns with responsible planning and strengthens community resilience.

As the Wakiso engagements concluded, beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, saying it would help sustain their families throughout the fasting period.

The ONC Ramadan outreach is set to continue across other parts of the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area in the coming days, reinforcing a message of faith, responsibility, and shared community support.
