Office of the National Chairman Manager (ONC), Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has fulfilled her pledge to support a financially struggling student at the Islamic University in Uganda, Kibuli Campus.
The commitment stems from a visit two weeks ago, when Namyalo delivered food items to Muslim students observing Ramadan. During the outreach, she encountered Lumu Abdul Karim, a second-year student who shared his difficulties in raising tuition fees.
Moved by his situation, Namyalo pledged to clear his outstanding balance and ensure he could continue with his studies uninterrupted.
On Tuesday, she honored that promise during a handover ceremony held at ONC where the funds were officially delivered, clearing the student’s tuition to zero balance.
Speaking at the event, Namyalo encouraged the student to remain focused on his education and avoid distractions, emphasizing that success now depended on his dedication and effort.
An emotional Lumu expressed deep gratitude, describing the support as life-changing and a renewed chance to complete his academic journey. He pledged to work hard and make the most of the opportunity.
In a heartfelt moment, the student also asked Namyalo to keep him in her prayers, a request she warmly accepted, noting that she now considers him like her own son.
The gesture reflects Namyalo’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable students and advancing youth empowerment through education.
