Top Secrets Leak: Security Operatives To Conduct Searches At Among’s Parliament Office, Bukedea Home!

Security agencies are considering fresh searches at the Parliament office and Bukedea residence of former Speaker Anita Annet Among as investigations into alleged illicit enrichment and money laundering intensify.
Highly placed sources said detectives from CID, working alongside the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and other security agencies, could carry out the operations within the next two days as part of the widening corruption probe.
The planned searches come hours after a joint security team reportedly raided Among’s Nakasero residence, scrutinising documents and property linked to the investigation.
The probe follows confirmation by Inspector General of Government Aisha Batala Nalule that her office had received and commenced investigations into a complaint accusing Among of failing to fully declare wealth and assets under the Leadership Code Act.
The investigations are unfolding amid a fierce political fallout over the Speakership race after the Patriotic League of Uganda led by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba withdrew support for Among and later endorsed Defence Minister Jacob Oboth Oboth for Speaker.
Pressure on Among intensified following public outrage over reports that she acquired a Rolls-Royce reportedly worth billions of shillings and imported from the United Kingdom.
Muhoozi has repeatedly posted anti-corruption messages in recent days, saying earlier this week: “Our job is to SERVE Ugandans not ourselves! I cannot support corruption!”
Neither police nor Parliament had officially commented on the possible searches by Saturday evening.
