St. Michael’s Secondary School Wera which runs under Soroti Catholic Diocese is among the top schools that performed excellently in the recently released 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education Exams (UCE).

This has been confirmed by the Director, Rev. Fr. Patrick Ochela De Ngorian Acaali who says the school scooped 10 first grades, 15 second grades and the others in third grade with some few in fourth grade.

Rev. Fr. Ochela was appointed as the Director of the above-mentioned school by Bishop; Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, and since then due to his steady and visionary leadership, the school has become a household talk in the Eastern region due to its exceptional academic performance.

Asked about the secret behind their good performance, Rev. Fr. Ochela noted, ”Our target is to be the leading school in the whole of Teso sub-region by ensuring all our candidates succeed with super first grades. And this will be possible because we have quality and down-to-earth staff members who are ever willing to help the students.”

Running under the motto; ‘we strive for excellence, St. Michael’s Secondary School Wera was started way back in 2003 as a Catholic institution to help in moulding students; academically, intellectually, spiritually and morally.
