The State House Anti-Corruption Unit together with Uganda Police arraigned Pitua Jude, a former forest supervisor at the National Forestry Authority (NFA) before the Anti-Corruption Division over neglect of duty.

The Unit says Pitua attached to Wanende sector, Mabira Central Forest Reserve in Buikwe District with his supervisor, the sector manager Mugumya Philipison, who is still at large, neglected their duty to preserve and protect Mabira Forest Reserve leading to its destruction and exploitation by encroachers.

Patua was remanded until 09/05/2024.

NFA was established to manage Forest Reserves in Uganda under 2003/8 NFTP Act.
