Two men escaped death by a whisker on Sunday, May 26, following an accident at Red Hill Link Road in Nairobi.
According to videos shared, the car, a Subaru, was seemingly overspeeding before flying off the road and rolling into a nearby compound.
Voices of the witnesses in the video claimed three occupants of the car were seemingly drunk and heading home from a party.
“The car broke the protective guardrail and hit the staircases before rolling into the compound; I know them; they were drunk,” a voice in the video claimed.
According to the witnesses in the video, the driver died on the spot from the impact, while two others were hospitalised.
The witnesses at the scene were trying to understand how the car flew and the two survived, as the impact of the roll and the car’s condition were intense.
The mechanics came to collect the remains of the car from the compound on Monday, May 27.
Bedan said: “Those bumps are the major cause of accidents around that spot….How do you put up bumps on a sharp bend?”
Majuu Alone said: “That impact can tell you the speed was so high,”
Poghisyo said: “Hizo bumps were erected on a bend, and it’s a downhill.. it has caused numerous accidents,”
Rick Grimes said: “People do crazy speeds on that road. You can be going at 80km/ph in your Kadudu, and someone flies past you like you’re not moving,”
In other news, a man driving a saloon car was involved in a horrible accident along Red Hill Road.
A video from the crash scene showed the magnitude of the accident, as the car was extensively damaged.
Eyewitnesses said the man was lucky to escape death after the guardrail pierced through the vehicle on the driver’s side.
