Visionary Leader: How Aspiring Youth MP Dr.Luwangula Brian Is Empowering Fellow Youths To Fight Poverty Through Farming

By Frank Kamuntu

As we draw closer to 2026 political battles, several Ugandans have started to show interest in contesting various positions. Among these include the most innovative Dr.Luwangula Brian of Luwangula Foundation who hopes to be the next youth MP for the central region.

Luwangula who has so far gained huge popularity and support from the youths is praised for his unique empowerment initiatives that include supporting youth groups with income-generating tools, goats, piglets, and chicks with aim of kicking poverty out of their families.

Asked about the motive behind his multimillion empowerment initiatives, Luwangula told this site that he is a youth who grew up in an economically struggling community and can’t go silent about this as his fellow youths continue to perish in poverty.

”The reality is I have little resources because I grew up in a humble family and so in brief Luwangula is a hustler, but then I believe the little I have I can share it with my brothers and sisters so that they can start jobs like poultry farming or pig farm business,” said Luwangula adding;

”No debate of course based on the support from my fellow youths, am going to win 2026 elections and go to parliament as Central Youth MP but I don’t want to lead youths who are financially struggling and this explains why am injecting all I have into these youths. When youths are economically empowered, they can actively participate in economic activities, make informed decisions, and contribute to their own development and that of their country,” added Luwangula.

Luwangula also cautioned the youths to avoid being used and hoodwinked by some politicians who give them packets of salt, sugar, alcohol and money saying such items can’t have any single impact on their development.

‘It’s so ashaming to hear people say that to win an election you must come with money and then splash it on people, others give them waragi, can you imagine someone buying you waragi & a packet of salt that you vote him and you think such a politician is concerned about your future, not really, the youths need things that can give them daily income & that’s why Luwangula foundation continues to source for them more goats, chicks and piglets so that they can be economically independent through farming,” added Luwangula.

Also, Luwangula is already fighting water shortage in various communities in the central region by providing them with boreholes and water tanks, thanks to the support from donors in and outside Uganda.

Further, Luwangula is so far working hard to lobby bursaries for struggling Buganda children, organize more health camps for the youths, source machines that can add value to the farming produces, and create more jobs like a water bottling company ‘Luwangula Water’  that will employ hundreds.
