Double Trouble! UCC Finally Reveals Why Full Figure's Salt TV Show Was Suspended

By Our Reporter

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has ordered the immediate suspension of Omusunsuzi, a popular morning show on Salt Television, over what it described as a breach of the Minimum Broadcasting Standards.

The show, co-hosted by presidential advisor Jennifer Nakanguubi — popularly known as Full Figure — and seasoned dramatist Charles James Ssenkubuge, airs every weekday between 6:00 am and 8:00 am.

In a statement issued on Saturday, September 13, 2025, UCC said its decision followed routine monitoring and numerous public complaints about the program. The regulator cited “abusive content, inappropriate language, and unprofessional conduct by the presenters” as the main reasons for the suspension.

“The Commission’s primary concern is to protect the public, particularly children, from exposure to unsuitable content during watershed hours,” the notice read.

Salt TV has been directed to halt the program with immediate effect and submit a comprehensive written response addressing the complaints raised. Additionally, the station must provide recordings of all Omusunsuzi episodes aired between August 1 and September 12, 2025, as well as the program’s script. The deadline for compliance is Friday, September 19, 2025.

The move by UCC comes in the wake of a stern warning by Presidential Advisor on Security, Maj. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso, who had earlier expressed displeasure over Full Figure’s public conduct.

Nalweyiso, speaking after Full Figure was hospitalised following a physical altercation with a fellow presidential advisor, questioned why regulatory bodies such as UCC and the Ministry of Ethics and Integrity had tolerated what she called “vulgar and unbecoming” language from government workers.

She went as far as threatening to personally arrest Full Figure if she continued using offensive language in public.
