S.Sudan: James Lual has been arrested for allegedly slapping Agorong Majok Yak in 2008.

The 16-year-old case has recently resurfaced in an unusual turn of events, leading to Lual’s detention.

In a post on Fa, Lual claims he was taken to the Juba Northern Division cell, where he spent the night before being released on bail.

Reflecting on the unexpected revival of the old accusation, Lual stated:

“I’m accused of slapping the complainant in 2008. After 16 years, Agorong Majok Yak has launched a lawsuit against me. Let’s wait and see the outcome of the law.”

The incident attracted attention on social media due to the significant time lapse between the alleged offence and the legal action.

Deng Riak Wieu Atem:

“He has to be compensated because his head still pains, and he lacks the money to go for treatment.”

Peter Fermo;

“I’m quite sure someone or something related might have brought back this slapping memory. 16 years worth a distance to reconsider this issue.”

Jong-Lajic Theophilus:

“I guess this disrespect must have been of such a high magnitude at that time because no man can keep such a grudge for over 10 years.”

“Somebody slapped me in 1996. Let me hope he is still alive. Things are not easy with the current economic meltdown. Thank you for reminding me.”
