Finally: SFC Commando Who Shot & Killed Four Family Members In Mayuge Arrested!

The Special Forces Command (SFC) has announced the arrest of one of its own, for masterminding the shooting of four family members in Mayuge over a land wrangle.

In the incident that happened on Saturday night, at Namutale village, Kabayingire parish, Buwaya sub-county, Mayuge district saw Pte Herbertson Birivumbuka walk into the home of Buyinza Mudhasi Isaac 40, and started spraying bullets into the house.

Mudhasi was killed with his three children on the spot while five other family members were critically injured.

In a statement on Monday, SFC public information officer, Maj Jimmy Omara said Pte Birivumbika had escaped from his place of work before committing the heinous crime.

“Upon committing the offence, the said soldier then rushed back to his place of work in a bid to elude any possible suspicion but his unit had already detected his absence. Once he returned, he was arrested because all fingers pointed to him,” Maj Omara said.

“He is detained in our facility awaiting the long arm of the law to dispense justice.”

The Special Forces Command described the incident as sad and condoled to the affected families.

“As a Command, we would also like to ask the people of Namale to cooperate with the investigators so that the suspect is quickly brought forward to face the law.”

Maj Omara assured the public that as the UPDF (SFC), their strategic relationship with Ugandans will continue to be highly maintained “as we weed out errant members of the force.”
