Dr. Khanakwa Sarah, aka Sibya Sipoto, the hopeful district woman member of parliament for Namisindwa, has urged leaders and residents in Namisindwa District to reject sectarianism, particularly based on political differences.
While speaking to the local leaders of the Greater Buwabwala zone in Buwabwala sub-county today, Khanakwa emphasized the significant impact of a united and cooperative community on government recognition.
“No government will ignore the voice of Banamisindwa as long as they are united and cooperate in many different aspects.” Dr. Khanakwa said.
According to Khanakwa, sectarianism stands as the primary obstacle to the development of any community, and it’s a significant contributor to poverty.
She also emphasized that the challenges that the government is combating, such as poverty, do not discriminate based on political affiliation.
“The poverty we are fighting knows nothing about political parties. No poverty is NRM, FDC, nor NUP, poverty is poverty, and it hurts.”
Khanakwa must have been following closely HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s preachings against sectarianism.
For long, NRM chairman Museveni has cautioned Ugandans to avoid sectarian tendencies for the continuous progress of the government’s transformation agenda.

Museveni believes acquiring positions based on tribe or religion, among others; can easily bring down institutions, adding that NRM has survived the terrain because it’s a broad-based government.
Just like Khanakwa, Museveni has always urged Ugandans to focus on development, wealth creation and elimination of corruption.
