By Frank Kamuntu

The stage is set for a groundbreaking event as over 50,000 youths from the Elgon Zone are confirmed to attend the inaugural Bugisu Youths Symposium, scheduled for September 11-12, 2024, at the Mbale Secondary School playgrounds.

In a significant announcement, the President confirmed his attendance at this momentous gathering through his Personal Presidential Secretary. The event is organized by the Office of the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), led by Hajjat Hadijah Uzieye Namyalo, affectionately known as Chief Muzukulu.

The symposium will feature 10 registered ambassadors of the wealth creation gospel from each of the 10 villages in the Bugisu sub-region, who will play a vital role in disseminating the wealth creation message. This gospel will be presented by the President himself on September 12, marking a historic moment for the youth of Bugisu.

Bugisu comprises six districts and one city with two divisions. As of now, 10 youths per village are registered to participate in this pioneering event. The symposium is set to be the first of its kind in the country, and the President’s tour is expected to have national significance, inspiring youths across Uganda.

This gathering aims to empower and equip the youth with tools and knowledge for wealth creation and sustainable development, aligning with the government’s vision for a prosperous Uganda.
