Seven people have lost their lives in a tragic accident involving a double-decker bus and a car on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Usrahar in Uttar Pradesh.
According to Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar, the bus, which had a Nagaland license plate and was en route from Rae Bareli to Delhi with around 60 passengers, collided with a car that was travelling in the wrong lane at approximately 12.30am on Sunday, August 4.
The injured, including one in critical condition, have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police reports.
The SP explained that the car, coming from Lucknow and heading towards Agra, was driven by an individual who likely fell asleep at the wheel and veered into the wrong lane. The impact of the collision caused the bus to overturn and fall into a roadside ditch.
