Three university students have been confirmed dead following a horrible accident along Bengaluru Airport Road, India.

The India Express reported that the students, all pursuing Bachelor of Science (BSc) were travelling on a motorcycle when they were killed in the accident.

Police reports indicate the motorcycle rammed into a heavy vehicle in the early hours of Thursday, September 12.

Police said the three students were riding towards Bengaluru city when they crashed into the heavy goods vehicle at Chikkajala flyover at around 1.30am.

The deceased were identified as Suchith, Rohith, and Harsha, fourth-year students of BSc agriculture at Gandhi Krishi Vigyana Kendra (GKVK), aged around 22-23.

Preliminary investigations show that Suchith, who was riding the motorcycle, attempted to switch lanes at a high speed, leading to the crash.

“During the preliminary investigation, it was found that Suchith, the bike rider, was trying to switch lanes at a high speed,” police said as reported by Times Now News.

The heavy vehicle driver fled the scene after the accident, and the police have yet to trace him and the lorry.

One person died, and several others sustained injuries. They were rushed back to Nairobi for urgent care.

Other vehicles were also caught in the crash; one was ferrying mourners with a body from Nairobi to a burial in Rongo, Migori county.
