Police in Kireka are investigating a suspected murder that occurred near Agenda Bridge in Kamuli A’ Zone, Kireka Ward, Namugongo Division, Wakiso District, on the morning of September 29, 2024. A lifeless woman, believed to be around 30 years old, was found lying in a shrub by the roadside. Her identity was initially unknown.

A team from Kireka Police Station responded swiftly to the scene and retrieved the body, which has since been transported to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Early investigations suggest that the victim may have been jogging at the time of the attack, as she was found dressed in a tracksuit. Preliminary evidence points to blunt force trauma, possibly inflicted with a heavy object.

Later in the day, further investigation led to the identification of the victim as Agnes Nantongo, Manager at African Oil Petrol Station. She was last seen leaving her workplace at around 7:00 PM the previous day, wearing the same clothing found on her body.

At approximately 8:00 AM, passersby discovered her body in the shrub and alerted local authorities. Police promptly initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Nantongo’s tragic death.

Police has since urged anyone with information that could assist in this case to contact the Kireka Police Station or any nearby police station as inquiries continue.
