Victoria University Founder and Chairman Ruprelia Group, Dr Sudhir Ruparelia Friday joined the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa alongside high-profile guests as the private-leading Ugandan varsity held its 8th Graduation ceremony at Speke Resort Convention Centre Munyonyo.
Tayebwa, who is a longtime friend of Tycoon Sudhir officiated as the Chief Guest at the 8th congregation where a total of 1470 students were awarded Masters degrees, Bachelors, Diplomas and Certificates in different disciplines.
The Deputy Speaker in his speech commended Dr Sudhir Ruparelia for bolstering Uganda’s education sector. He also cautioned the graduands on the appropriate usage of social media as it shapes the kind of personality they portray to the outside world.
Among the high-profile students who graduated was Francis Isano, a celebrated photographer attached to Next Media Services, the parent company of Nile Broadcasting Services (NBS TV) and Nile Post News.
Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganda said the university community, parents and well-wishers were celebrating the hard work and sacrifices of the students and their families.
“We are proud of each of our graduands and look forward to celebrating together.” He emphasized that the day marks a reward for the students’ hard work and dedication.
Also present at the graduation was the Honorary of Namibia to Uganda, Godfrey Kirumira, various university vice-chancellors and distinguished guests from all circles of life and industries.
Victoria University has become one of the top universities in Uganda with competitive and marketable academic programs for today’s graduates and job market.
The University has established itself as a leading institution of higher learning in Uganda, leading in the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the country’s education system.
