Just In: Fake Major Asiimwe Arrested Over Theft

The Kampala Metropolitan Police East Headquarters at Jinja Road have arrested Kakaire Yusuf on charges of impersonation. It is alleged that Kakaire, also known as “Major Kakaire” or “Major Asiimwe,” falsely claimed to be an army officer affiliated with the Office of the President.

Through this impersonation, he is accused of attempting to extort and steal from unsuspecting members of the public.

At the time of his arrest, Kakaire was found with suspected stolen items and multiple forged identification documents.

The Police encourage anyone who may have interacted with this individual or been affected by his alleged actions to contact the Kampala Metropolitan East headquarters at Jinja Road.

The suspect is currently in custody and will face formal charges in court upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
