A 79-year-old man married his beautiful young bride in a colourful wedding ceremony at Moiben, Eldoret, in Uasin Gishu county.
Aruso and his wife tied the knot on November 11, 2024, marking the beginning of a wonderful union.
Speaking to reporters, the man’s grandson, Aruso Junior, noted that his grandfather lost his wife almost a year ago.
He said the man wanted to marry a few months after his wife passed, but the sons refused.
“He was married, but the wife passed on. After a while, he wanted to marry, but the sons initially did not agree with him about marrying any woman,” he explained.
However, Junior noted that they eventually warmed up to the idea and allowed the older man to search for a wife.
As a man of the church, the old man shared his decision to marry with the church elders, who helped him find a wife.
“He informed his church that he wanted to remarry, and he was allowed because marriage vows are usually until death, and his wife had died. There was backlash about my grandfather marrying a younger woman, but you know this lady was identified and presented to him by the church,” he stated.
The grandson further noted that their family supports his grandfather’s marriage as his happiness is of utmost importance.

This is after Mwangi took to social media to announce that she was off the market and added that she was excited to start her marriage journey.
Social media users discussed the couple’s age gap relationship, with some defending them, saying age was just but a number.
