City businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia who is Uganda’s wealthiest individual and a top taxpayer, has long been recognized for his contributions to Uganda’s economic landscape.
Ruparelia’s success story began in the early 1980s when he returned to Uganda after years in exile following the expulsion of Asians by Idi Amin in 1972.
