The Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development of Kenya has announced a public auction for December 11, 2024, through its State Department for Public Service.
In a public notice, the ministry said the auction would feature unserviceable motor vehicles and obsolete stores, offering Kenyans an opportunity to acquire these items at competitive prices.
“The Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development, State Department for Public Service, in conjunction with the appointed auctioneer M/s Flomer Auctioneers of P.O Box 29 00202 Nairobi, shall sell through public auction unserviceable motor vehicles and obsolete stores on 11th December 2024 starting from 10.00 am,” read the public notice in part.
The notice stated that M/S Flomer Auctioneers will facilitate the auction at the Ministry of Public Works Mechanical Department, located in Nairobi’s Industrial Area. Bidding during the auction is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Interested bidders can access the auction catalogue and further details from the Ministry’s official website at mps.go.ke or through the Public Procurement information portal tenders.go.ke free of charge.
The ministry further stated that physical copies of the catalogue are also available from the supply chain management office at Telposta Towers, 2nd Floor, during normal working hours.
In other news, the Kenya Bureau of Standards announced new importation regulations for used and secondhand motor vehicles, effective January 1, 2025.
The regulations enforce an eight-year age limit, allowing only Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles whose first registration year is from January 1, 2018, or later.
Vehicles registered in 2017 or earlier and arriving in Kenya after December 31, 2024, will not meet compliance requirements and will be rejected at the importer’s expense.
