ONC’s Namyalo Gifts Winners Of National Quran Competition With Wealth Creation Tools

A total of 20 contestants Sunday walked away with wealth creation items courtesy of President Museveni’s Office of the National Chairman (ONC) during the National Quran Competition Finals held at Kampala Serena Hotel in Kampala.

The National Quran Competitions aimed to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Quran among Muslims in Uganda, to identify and nurture young talent in Quranic recitation and memorization and to foster a sense of community and unity among Muslims in Uganda.

The items, donated by ONC Manager, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye included sewing machines, car washing machines, popcorn making machines, hair dryers and clippers, etc were part of the gifts received by the contestants at the intense Quran citation finals which covered two categories ; The Half Quran and Full Quran for both boys and girls.

In the Boys category under Half Quran, Lugemwa Imran emerged the winner with a 98% score, while Nagginda Rayyan won the girls category under this section with a 92% score.

Under the Full Quran section, Suhail Adam scored an exceptional 97.1% to emerge the overall winner of the competitions under the boys category followed by Osman Zaidi 96.85% and Ukasha Ssemogerere 96%. For the Under the girls category, the overall winner, Nankinga Shamirah notched a 92% score.

The overall winners in both boys and girls category; Suhail Adam and Nankinga Shamirah each got a brand new car courtesy of Success Motors.

Speaking as special guest at the event, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo thanked Iraji Foundation, the organizers of the competitions for their commitment to uplift the Islamic religion and it’s values among the Muslim Bazzukulu and pledged total commitment towards these competitions becoming an annual event for many years to come.

“Thank you Iraji Foundation and Biggie Events for such a wonderful event. What happened today showcased that the Quran is on top of everything, and therefore everyone of us here, this is a challenge to nurture our young ones into Islamic values right from childhood,” Hajjat Namyalo stated.

On the items donated to the contestants, Namyalo said her office, the ONC, is committed to uplift the Muslim Bazzukulu with capital items so that they can have the opportunity of generating income for their livelihoods alongside their normal schedule of work or studies.

“As Office of the National Chairman, we are determined to uplift you from poverty, and this is just one of the many avenues by Jajja Kaguta Museveni’s government. With these tools, you can start something for yourself, or employ someone to work for you and start earning small with bigger visions.”

Hajjat concluded her remarks with a powerful recitation of the Quran which threw the audience at Serena in awe of amazement by her full knowledge of the Islamic values, before asking the audience to vote for Jajja wa’Bazzukulu President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he returns on the ballot in 2026.

The day’s Chief Guest, Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, the Titular head of the Muslim Community in Uganda hailed the event organizers for valuing Islam as a true religion and the teachers for nurturing the young ones to compete at the national level.

Prince Nakibinge also thanked the sponsors of the finals including Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo’s ONC for the millions of funds injected into the competitions and the gifts donated to the contestants which motivates others to also take part. He urged the organizers to ensure this becomes a customary event for the Muslim Fraternity and vowed to throw full support behind them

On behalf of the organizers, Ms Mariam Mutakubwa, the Managing Director of Biggie Events, explained why her company decided to organize the National Quran Competition despite having previously known for organizing secular events for musicians.

The National Quran Finals at Kampala Serena was also attended to by the 2nd Deputy Katikkiro of Buganda, Hajj Twaha Kawaase Kigongo, the Supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, Counsel Yusuf Usaama of Good money Fraternity, among others.
