The mysterious death of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Julius Ahimbisibwe has raised many questions.
His body was discovered under strange circumstances in a septic tank at his home in Nakitokolo, Wakiso District, with a rope around his neck, leading to speculation that it may have been a suicide.
However, the police have not ruled out other possibilities.
Four people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the officer’s death, including his wife, a farmworker (shamba boy), a neighbor, and the area’s defense secretary.
These individuals were among the first to respond after the discovery of Ahimbisibwe’s body, and their involvement is now being closely examined by the authorities.
The police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke, has made it clear that investigations are ongoing and that they are waiting for the results of a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
The presence of a rope around the victim’s neck is not enough to confirm suicide, and police are following all necessary steps to uncover the truth.
Reports also revealed that Ahimbisibwe had been facing disciplinary and criminal investigations before his death.
He had been suspended over an incident last year and had even been remanded at some point. The police have said they will release more details as the investigation unfolds.
As the investigation continues, many questions remain about what really happened to this senior police officer, and why his wife and others are now under arrest.
The postmortem results will be crucial in answering these questions and bringing clarity to this tragic event.
