”Museveni Is The Best, Opposition Can Hang Or Continue With Their Pokopoko”-ONC’s Namyalo Blasts NUP Over ‘Protest Vote’ Campaign

By Our Reporter

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC), led by Senior Presidential Advisor Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has officially launched the “Say No to Protest Vote” campaign in a spirited event aimed at countering opposition rhetoric and reinforcing support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Held under the theme “Settle for M7 – M7 Is the Best: Say No to Protest Vote,” the launch event at the ONC offices in Kyambogo drew hundreds of enthusiastic bazzukulu (youth supporters) from across the country. Namyalo used the platform to strongly condemn what she described as deceptive opposition narratives, particularly the “Protest Vote” slogan being pushed by the National Unity Platform (NUP) and its leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine.

In her address, Namyalo praised the resilience of Ugandans who have consistently backed President Museveni through initiatives such as Jajja Tova Ku Main and Say No to Forceful Transition. She applauded Museveni for steering Uganda from a GDP of just USD 5 billion in 1986 to a thriving lower middle-income economy valued at USD 49 billion today.

“We cannot allow enemies of progress to manipulate our democracy for their selfish agenda,” Namyalo said, warning that the so-called protest vote is a ploy to derail the country’s socio-economic transformation. “This narrative is nothing but a trap. We were misled in 2021, but we must not fall for it again.”

Targeting Bobi Wine directly, Namyalo accused the opposition leader of spreading false propaganda, promoting tribalism, and working with foreign funders to undermine Uganda’s Pan-Africanist agenda. She criticized his attacks on government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), which she said is already lifting 38% of Ugandans out of poverty.

“You badmouth a program that is transforming lives while doing nothing concrete for the people,” she charged. “Instead of using donor billions for youth empowerment in regions like Busoga, Teso, Karamoja, and Buganda, you’re funding personal luxuries and painting a false picture of Uganda abroad.”

Namyalo also highlighted her own grassroots efforts to support youth through the distribution of startup capital and tools to promote entrepreneurship, contrasting it with what she called the opposition’s empty politics of “money and supremacy.”

She emphasized that Museveni’s legacy extends far beyond Uganda, noting his contributions to regional peace, Pan-African unity, and economic sovereignty. “Museveni is a revolutionary leader, a brand not just for Uganda but for the entire African continent.”

Concluding her remarks, Namyalo urged Ugandans—especially the youth—not to be swayed by the opposition’s “false promises” and instead rally behind Museveni as the only leader capable of securing Uganda’s future.

“Museveni is a tested and proven leader. Let us not gamble with our future. Settle for the Best—Museveni is the Best,” she declared to cheers from the crowd.

The “Say No to Protest Vote” campaign is expected to continue mobilizing support nationwide as the country heads into a heated political season.
