Victoria University Grieves Loss Of Director Rajiv: “We Will Walk The Path You Showed Us”

By Frank Kamuntu

Grief and gratitude have swept through Uganda’s academic community following the sudden passing of Mr. Rajiv Ruparelia, the dynamic and beloved Director of Victoria University, Kampala Parents’ School and Delhi Public School International (DPSI). He passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 35, leaving behind a profound legacy of innovation, resilience, and transformation in Uganda’s education sector.

Victoria University Leads the Tributes

In an emotional tribute titled “Director Rajiv, We Salute You,” Victoria University mourned the loss of a leader whose influence reshaped the institution’s identity. The university described Rajiv as a remarkable visionary who not only reinvested his heart and resources but also inspired a culture of excellence, creativity, and community impact.

“At times, we are lost for words. At times, we cannot find the right ones. And sometimes, the pain is simply too much to bear,” the message read. “But all is not lost—if we walk the path you showed us, if we honour your vision and the brilliance you brought to building this institution… then, perhaps, our tears will begin to dry.”

Rajiv’s leadership at Victoria University was marked by his passion for empowering youth, championing digital transformation, and positioning the university as one of Uganda’s leading private academic institutions. His marketing savvy, hands-on leadership, and commitment to student success set him apart as a trailblazer.

Delhi Public School International: A Legacy Etched in Excellence

Delhi Public School International (DPSI), another institution under Rajiv’s stewardship, also issued a moving statement, highlighting his unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and boundless generosity.

“His memory will forever remain in our hearts,” the DPSI tribute stated. “The entire DPSI community stands beside you, offering our deepest sympathies and unwavering support.”

Born on January 2, 1990, Rajiv Ruparelia played a pivotal role in establishing DPSI as a premier international school in Uganda, affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi. His values, energy, and leadership have left an indelible mark on both students and staff.

A Nation Mourns, But a Legacy Lives On

As the country reflects on the life of a young yet extraordinary leader, the messages from both institutions echo a common theme—Rajiv Ruparelia’s vision will endure. His life was a testament to service, ambition, and the power of belief in others.

“Your legacy still reigns,” Victoria University wrote. And indeed, across lecture halls, boardrooms, and classrooms, his spirit will continue to inspire.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his vision continue to light the way forward.
