The 11th Parliament (2021–2026) has a total of 557 seats, Hon Asiimwe managed to swim through and became fifth in the Buganda region and 1st among the new members who joined Parliament in the 2021 elections.
According to Hansard’s rankings, Asiimwe debated 63 times on the floor of Parliament, raising the bar higher than last year when he debated 52 times.
The youthful MP didn’t not only debate but also raised key matters of national importance and made contributions to several bills. Hon Asiimwe breaks a record as he becomes the first-ever member of Parliament in Kabula to debate on the floor of Parliament 122 times in a period of just two years.
Ms Harriet Kamya a resident of Lyantonde Town Council told this website that for all the years she has lived in Kabula, it’s the first time to hear that their MP tops a list of representatives.
“Kabula has been scoring zero like other constituencies in this region but Hon Asiimwe has raised our bar this time and we only hear the zeros in Kooki and Lwengo,” she said.
Meanwhile, Hon Pauline Kyaka Ngabirano the Woman MP Lyantonde district was ranked number 59 after debating six times on the floor.
Other Members of Parliament in the neighboring constituencies like Hon Javira Ssemwanga of Buyamba Constituency in Rakai District and Hon Cissy Namujju Woman MP for Lwengo debated just once.
On there other hand, Hansard as quoted by Bukedde newspaper says Hon Boaz Kasirabo of Kooki Constituency, Hon Aisha Sekindi Woman MP Kalungu district who doubles as State Minister for Water and Hon Juliet Ssuubi Kinyamatama Woman MP Rakai district didn’t utter a single word at the floor of Parliament in the whole financial year.
