Special Presidential Advisor and Presidential Assistant dubbed head of the Office of the National Chairman-ONC Kyambogo, Uzeiye Namyalo Hadijah earlier today presided over a graduation ceremony of ghetto youths and encouraged them to participate in government and secure a brighter future.
”All ghetto youths are entitled to benefit from all available government programs such as Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga and others. Just like any other Ugandan, you also qualify to benefit from these programs aimed at eradicating poverty,” Namyalo urged the youths.
These youths were trained by the Government of Uganda through the Makerere University Research and Innovation Fund under a project named “Kampala Ghetto Youth Training For Entrepreneurial Promotion (KGYTEP).
The training was conducted by researchers from the College of Education and External Studies and is aimed at equipping ghetto youths with entrepreneurial skills to help them have better lives.
The trainees have undergone extensive training for several weeks, they will be grouped and given capital to start-up businesses.
While Speaking at the close of the training, SPA Namyalo encouraged the youths to always look at self-employment as the most viable option for living a successful and independent life.
Namyalo also called upon the youths to be job creators and not job seekers.
