Moses Karangwa Kaliisa, a prominent businessman, influential National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobiliser and Senior Presidential Adviser on Special Duties, has died following a fatal road accident in Kayunga District.
Karangwa, who also served as NRM Chairperson for Kayunga District, was involved in a serious crash on Sunday evening at Ssukka Village near the Lake Oil station along the Kayunga road.
Initial reports indicate that he sustained critical injuries in the accident and was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala for emergency treatment. Despite efforts by medical teams, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police had not yet released an official statement on the exact cause of the crash by press time, although sources described the collision as severe.
Karangwa was one of the ruling National Resistance Movement’s most visible grassroots mobilisers in central Uganda and wielded considerable influence across both the Buganda and Busoga regions.
He recently made headlines after entering the race for NRM Vice Chairperson for Central Region, a highly contested position within the party. However, he later withdrew from the contest following consultations with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe.
Soon afterward, Museveni appointed him Senior Presidential Adviser on Special Duties, a move widely seen as recognition of his longstanding loyalty and political mobilization efforts.
Beyond politics, Karangwa was a successful entrepreneur and the proprietor of Sauti FM, the only radio station based in Kayunga District. He also had interests in several other businesses across central Uganda.
MAY HIS SOUL RIP!
