First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ugandans for their prayers, support, and birthday wishes, describing her recovery as a testament to God’s power and faithfulness.

Speaking in a message of thanksgiving, Mrs. Museveni said her experience had strengthened her belief that God is alive and actively at work in people’s lives.

“It is a confirmation that the God I talk about is a living God. He is not a myth; He lives,” she said.

The First Lady thanked President Yoweri Museveni, whom she referred to as “Mzee,” for leading prayers together with the nation during her period of illness. She also commended Ugandans from all walks of life who publicly and privately prayed for her wellbeing.

“I must therefore thank Uganda, beginning with Mzee, who has prayed with the whole nation. I praise God for leading us to know Him. Thank you all for coming out publicly to pray for me,” she said.

Mrs. Museveni further expressed appreciation for the continuous prayers she received, as well as the numerous birthday messages that poured in during the period.

“Thank you for all those continuous prayers and also for the kind birthday wishes. Thank you for letting me know just how much I am loved,” she added.

Her message has resonated with many supporters, who have continued to celebrate her recovery and offer words of encouragement. The First Lady’s remarks underscored the role of faith, national unity, and public support during challenging moments.

The statement comes amid an outpouring of goodwill from Ugandans and well-wishers who have been following her health journey and praying for her recovery.
