Dr Sudhir, Maponga, Tshabalala, Ayo Kimathi Shake Speke Resort Munyonyo At PAP Global Awards

Hundreds of guests, dignitaries, Pan-Africanists, business leaders and other invited guests gathered at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday, August 29, 2026, for the ninth Pan-African Pyramid (PAP) Global Awards and 12th Anniversary Dinner.

The colourful event brought together prominent figures from Uganda and across Africa and the diaspora to celebrate individuals and organisations recognised for their contribution to humanitarian work, African development, leadership, entrepreneurship, freedom struggles and the advancement of Pan-African ideals.

The event featured entertainment, speeches, discussions on Africa’s development and sovereignty, and an awards ceremony honouring this year’s recipients.

Among the distinguished guests was businessman and philanthropist Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, who attended as Guest of Honour. The event also had international Pan-African voices including Bishop Joshua Maponga of Zimbabwe, South African anti-apartheid activist Dr Khanyisile Litchfield Tshabalala, Ghanaian entrepreneur Ambassador Clinton Arko Agyemang, Jamaican Pan-Africanist Blossom Thomas and US prominent activist Ayo Kimathi.

The event featured keynote and thematic speeches on issues central to Africa’s future, refugees in Africa, what speakers described as “new colonialism,” and the impact of decoloniality.

Bishop Joshua Maponga delivered the keynote address before the awards ceremony, which formed one of the major highlights of the evening.

Among those recognised were Rajiv Ruparelia and Hon. Helen Nakimuli Walusimbi, who received Humanitarian Awards, while Dr Hon. Khanyisile Litchfield Tshabalala was honoured as a Freedom Fighter for her anti-apartheid contribution.

Other recipients included Dr Frank Mugyenyi, recognised for leadership in African mineral sovereignty and governance; Amb. Clinton Arko Agyemang for African young social and development entrepreneurship; Blossom Thomas for African Renaissance leadership in the diaspora; and Ugandan industrialist Victoria Sugar, who received an African Development Entrepreneur Award.

MTN Uganda received the Lifetime Achiever Award, while Prince Wasajja Kiwanuka was honoured with the African Renaissance Award.

The awards were followed by dinner, cake cutting and live musical entertainment, before guests indulged in an impressive array of drinks and dishes courtesy of the world-class Speke Resort Munyonyo.
