Just In: UPDF Jubilates After ‘Thumbing’ 11 ADF Rebels That Killed Tourists

Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) with a combined force of SFC & Marine forces have managed to track down the ADF rebels that attacked tourists in Kasese and put them out of action.

According to Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Army Spokesperson, UPDF killed 11 ADF rebels that killed tourists last month at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Akiiki says the group was attacked on Tuesday night, 31st October, 2023 near Kayanja Landing Site off Lake Edward in Kasese District adding that the operation is still ongoing.

The point of attack is near the Uganda-Congo border, about 360 Kilometers from Uganda’s Capital City, Kampala.

The UPDF launched the manhunt on October 17th after the heinous attack on the two tourists and their driver/guide.

“An intelligence-led operation saw a number of them perish under the combined fire of UPDF marines, Special Forces, 222, 301 Brigade Infantry squads in a well-coordinated night operation,” Akiiki says.
